Endurant Batteries: Built for New Zealand Conditions

Endurant batteries have their origins in the auto electrical workshops of New Zealand. In the early 1990s, auto electrician Mike Weeks began specifying batteries that better suited local vehicles, driving conditions and customer expectations. Once he had the battery performance he wanted, he branded them Endurant, a name that reflected what the battery was built to do: last.

The Endurant formula was based on practical workshop experience. By lowering the specific gravity of the acid and adding more lead, the batteries were designed to deliver longer service life and dependable performance in real New Zealand conditions. They were not created as a generic battery brand; they were developed by an auto electrician for New Zealand.

Word soon spread. Other auto electricians across New Zealand began using Mike’s batteries, and the group of specialists supporting Endurant continued to grow. From that group, the Battery Town network was formed.

More than 30 years later, Battery Town has grown to more than 100 members nationwide, but Endurant remains at the heart of the network. It is still the battery that stands the test of time, backed by qualified auto electricians who understand how batteries perform in everyday use.
